Founded by Liza Serratore and Claire Russo, LuRu Home is a sophisticated balance of ancient Chinese Nankeen patterns and contemporary design. Through designing for the international community, it is Serratore and Russo's mission to bring patronage to the artisans who create these timeless home linens. The front of this pillow would have made a pair of sleeve cuffs for a gentleman's jacket. It was quite narrow, about 12 inches wide, and woven so that the wider embroidery bands and narrow woven bands indicated where to cut to form the cuffs. The back is a striped homespun vintage fabric, woven on a handloom during the Cultural Revolution. Thick and textured, soft with a handmade touch, each is truly a one of a kind pillow.
